In order to continue to practice Engineering, Professional Engineers must renew their licenses every two years. During each two-year period prior to renewing their license, Professional Engineers must complete the equivalent of 30 hours of continuing education courses or activities that are relevant to the practice of Professional Engineering and address the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.
ASPE provides the following opportunities for Professional Development Education:
- Each ASPE Chapter provides regular opportunities for Professional Engineers to attend presentations on relevant topics, such as ethics, project case studies, technical topics, etc.
- All ASPE members have access to free online courses through NSPE.
- ASPE periodically offers Professional Education Seminars on relevant topics.
ASPE Chapters are holding a combination of in-person and virtual meetings. The Alaska Statewide organization is forwarding online meeting invitations from specific chapters to all members. All are welcome to attend. You may request to be added to ASPE’s email list to receive notices and invitations to these events, including Statewide Board meetings and related activities.
